My name is Rui Wang. I was born in Xi’an, China, and I currently work as a freelance German Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, and UPC representative. I have been working in the field of intellectual property since 2017.

My major is Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with a focus on Communications Engineering. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University and Master’s degrees from both Tongji University and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). During my PhD studies at TUM, my research focused on the Internet of Things and Logistics 4.0, and two of my publications received “Best Paper Awards”.

I specialise in the fields of electrical engineering and information technology, with expertise in mobile communications, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous driving and connected vehicles, image and signal processing, video and audio technologies, robotics, encrypted communications, and other computer-implemented inventions.

Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of companies and organizations — from global leading ICT corporations and research institutes to small and mid-sized enterprises and start-ups. I have handled numerous complex patent cases and gained extensive experience in patent prosecution, including standard-essential patent (SEP) applications.
